Greetings from the Church of the Lutheran Brethren. It is indeed a privilege to come to you with an update on our finances.
We were roughly $65,000 short of our anticipated goal at the end of August. That means we were 13% behind our goal for the year. We were praying for that gap to close in the month of September… and I am happy to report to you that it did. Our shortfall is now $47,250 behind our anticipated. We are rejoicing in the fact that we went from a 13% shortfall to a 9.3% shortfall. That was a big gain, and we needed it. Are we out of the woods? By no means. We need that momentum to continue.
We have mission commitments that are moving forward. Each month we send a check to Epiphany Lutheran Church in New York City. We are encouraged by the stories being reported from our church planter Erick Sorensen, and we are very excited about Epiphany securing a building and their intentions to begin holding worship services early next year. We are a disciple making movement, and that is exactly what is happening in New York City… and that is exactly what your gifts are used for.
Whether we are funding the training of pastors and missionaries, or resourcing and equipping a local congregation, or reaching the lost with the good news of Jesus Christ you can be confident that your gifts are being used to make disciples for Christ.
Thank you for your gifts. May the Lord continue to richly bless you, and may He continue to richly bless the Church of the Lutheran Brethren.
